Grand Slams now has a mix tape--music from the pages of a novel.

Welcome to 1982.

Whether it's Woody Geyser's "punk" music, Maloney's mainstream, Marisimo's Dominican love songs, Debbie's Cowpunk, The Boston Pops Fourth of July,  Sugar's country music,  music from the Grand Slams' dish room Top 40 or their Muzak piped through their restaurant speakers--all these styles make their appearance within the pages of Grand Slam. Consider this a mix tape that you can play while reading. Perhaps someone who gave it to you likes you, because if they smile...

This list features Billy Idol, The Rolling Stones, The Psychedelic Furs, Pat Benatar, CW McCall, Joan Jett, The Clash, Clapton, Tom T Hall, Ronnie Milsap, Tom Petty, Billy Squier, Dwight Yoakam, Billy Ocean, Carlos Manuel El Zafiro, Theme from MASH, Talking Heads, Beat Farmers, The Blasters, Scruffy the Cat, Sex Execs, Varsity Drag, Maestro: A Special Salute to Billy Ruane, John Williams conducting the Boston Pops and The Sex Pistols (over the closing credits).

Some book settings now resting in peace:
The Web Brook
Jack's (featuring Billy Ruane as himself)
The Rat
The Orson Wells Theater
The Super 8
Wonderland Dog Track
The Bell Canto
Sinclair Gas
Dodge Monaco

Hope you'll all rock the book!

This is not and never will be the soundtrack, holy shit.
